Ingredients
- 1 (15 oz) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Drain and rinse the chickpeas
- Place all ingredients in a blender
- Blend until completely smooth. If it seems too thick, add a tablespoon or two of water or some of the liquid from the canned chickpeas to help blend.
- Taste and adjust seasonings as needed
- Transfer the hummus to a bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with paprika or chopped parsley if desired
- Serve with pita bread, vegetables, or crackers
